We are able to support all levels of Arts Award courses, from Discover and Explore to Bronze, Silver and Gold. It's like Duke of Edinburgh, but for the arts. Suitable for children aged 5 up to young people aged 24, Arts Award is a fantastically flexible qualification that develops young people's creative and soft skills as well as equipping them with an insight into how the arts might work for them as a career.
To date we have successfully delivered two Arts Award Courses. We ran a Silver Arts Award course for teenagers living in BS13, who all qualified in August 2019. They majored in street photography and graphic design. They worked with specialist photography and design tutors at Creative Workspace, and exhibited work as part of the Southbank Bristol Arts Trail at the Tobacco Factory and the Southville Centre (BS3).
As part of their course they also planned, delivered and evaluated a range of creative workshops for younger children which were held at Creative Workspace.
You can keep see more of their artwork here.
We delivered an Explore level Arts Award course at Fouracres Primary in Withywood. All the students who were in Years and 5-6 successfully passed the course also in August 2019. As part of their course, they worked with a visual artist, Laura Humpage from Colourful Minds and learned about collage techniques.
We are due to run a third Arts Award course in the spring of 2020. To enquire about Arts Award, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
